Windows Phone-powered Micromax Canvas Win W121 and W092 launched for Rs 9,500 and Rs 6,500
Micromax has launched its first range of Windows Phone 8.1 devices in an event in New Delhi, marking the company’s foray into smartphones with Microsoft’s mobile OS.

Micromax was one of the partners announced by Microsoft on stage at BUILD this year, when introducing Windows Phone 8.1. We have been awaiting the first range of handsets powered by WP8.1 since then and following’s Xolo’s first Windows device last week, Micromax has launched two new phones.

The Canvas Win W121 and Canvas Win W092 have been produced by Micromax in close collaboration with Microsoft and Qualcomm. They are slated to be available from next month, with the Win W092 priced at Rs 6,500, while the Win W121 is priced at Rs 9,500, according to a post by the official Windows blog.

Both devices are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 200, which is a low-end Cortex-A7 1.2 GHz quad core processor and both feature 1 GB of RAM, along with Dual-SIM support.

The higher-end W121 sports a 5-inch display with an HD (most likely 720p) resolution, while the W092 has a 4-inch IPS WVGA display.

In terms of cameras, the W121 sports an 8-megapixel unit on the back, along with a 2-megapixel front camera. It has 8GB of internal memory along with a microSD card slot that takes in up to 32GB cards.

Additionally, the Canvas Win W121 is equipped with proximity, gravity, and light sensors, an accelerometer, and comes with a leather finish back panel.

The W092 sports a 5 megapixel rear camera (with LED flash­), a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera, and also has 8GB of internal storage with up to 32GB of expandable memory just like the Canvas Win 121. It’s said to have a 1500 mAh battery, which should ideally deliver all-day battery life.
